The goal of the Brightside Treatment Center is to help children, their families
and support systems to reach a point where continued constructive development
can take place in the least restrictive setting possible. Treatment focuses on
identifying what needs to be modified and addressed in a child's behavior to allow
for a less restrictive placement, and identifying what modifications are required
in the environment to accept and support the child's continued
development. The success of this treatment approach relies on the ability of
our agency to form a team with the child and his/her family/guardian, support
system and referring agencies.
Family members, parents and guardians are actively involved in all phases of
treatment, including:
* Participation and visitation
* Treatment planning process
* Treatment reviews
* Social and recreational activities (e.g., parent educational and support groups,
family day picnics and activities)
* Learn new approaches to an effective child/parent relationship
