The mission of Brightside for Families and Children is to be a healing and transforming
presence in the lives of the youth and families we serve. This is done through
individualized services that incorporate the needs, education, and desires of
every child and family supported by Brightside. The guiding philosophy is based
on the belief that people realize their fullest potential through relationships.
Brightside demonstrates the spirit of caring on a daily basis. In the community,
Brightside helps to build families and support individuals through family outreach
and stabilization, psychiatric and medication evaluation and management, special
education, and by being there to offer support and encouragement.
Brightside for Families and Children has a long tradition of working with young
people and their families. We believe strong families are the bedrock of society,
and children are our most precious resource. Since its founding in 1881, Brightside
has continued to grow and change to become a prestigious and comprehensive child
welfare, mental health, and family support center offering contemporary services
for children, adolescents, and their families. Brightside remains determined
to help lead the way in providing high quality, effective services by implementing
nationally recognized, evidenced-based treatment models and clinical treatment
environments as we assist our clients and families in successfully meeting their
treatment goals.
The goal of the Brightside Family Support Service Program is to help children,
their families and support systems with the necessary skill sets so as to reach
a point where continued constructive development can take place while keeping
the family intact. The success of this treatment approach relies on the ability
of our agency to form a team with the child and his/her family/guardian, support
system, other providers, and referring agencies.
Family members, parents, and guardians are actively in all phases of treatment,
including:
- Identifying problem areas, goals, and interventions.
-Treatment planning process
-Family therapy
-Skills Building
-Learn approaches to effectiveness of child/parent relationship.
